Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Round Rock, TX

Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Round Rock, TX

Round Rock has genuinely good options for eating out with a dog. Here are four spots where the dog-friendly patio is confirmed, not assumed — plus one popular name worth a call-ahead first.

The best dog-friendly patios in Round Rock

  • Hat Creek Burger Company — The standout. In their own words, the patio is dog-friendly: a large, shaded patio with umbrella-covered picnic tables, right by Dell Diamond and Old Settlers Park. Burgers, shade, and room to spread out.
  • Anchor Bar — Built for dog owners: a family- and dog-friendly sports bar with an outdoor area called the “Anchor Bark,” a dog menu, and a temperature-controlled enclosed patio that’s comfortable in any weather. Known for its wings.
  • Hopdoddy Burger Bar — A dog-friendly outdoor shaded patio with misting fans — a real advantage in a Texas summer — plus never-frozen burgers and a full bar.
  • Finley’s — A downtown pick with a covered dog-friendly patio, misters, and seating under a big oak. Strong for brunch or a relaxed burger.

Worth a call first: Jack Allen’s Kitchen is a Round Rock favorite, but its patio is enclosed and we couldn’t confirm a consistent dog policy — call ahead rather than assume.

Central Texas heat: plan around it

Hopdoddy and Finley’s have misting fans; the others rely on shade and cover. From June through September, go early or after sunset, bring water and a bowl, and check the pavement with the back of your hand before you cross it — too hot for you means too hot for paws.

Frequently asked questions

Which Round Rock patio is best for a dog? Hat Creek for shaded space and room; Anchor Bar if you want a dedicated dog area and a dog menu.

Can dogs go inside restaurants in Round Rock? Usually not. Most restaurants keep pet dogs on the patio. A few breweries and bars with no kitchen let dogs inside, and each listing on the site says which. Service animals are the exception everywhere.
